Euchiridae family

Euchiridae beetles are known as Long-Armed Beetles. Their larvaes are found in rotten wood lying on the forest floor. One the main attractions of the Long-Armed Beetles which makes them interesting to collect are their extremely long forelegs. The larger species (such as Cheirotonus and Euchirus) are mostly found in the tropical forest of Asia. However a smaller specie, Propomacrus bimucronatus, is found as far West as in the Mediterranean regions of Turquey, Greece and Cyprus. The larvae of the Euchiridae is collect is its pair of extremely long front legs which makes it very unique in the beetle world.
