Buprestidae family
Beetles known as jewel beetles (also known as metallic wood-boring beetles) are part of the Buprestidae family. They have a fancy name due to the fact that many have glossy iridescent colors. It is one of the biggest beetle family with some 15,000 species known in 450 genera.
